Carswell Federal was an amazing experience for me. By far the most meaningful, moving, revealing work I have ever done. God is so good and His Love continues to surprise and enlighten me. Thank you for welcoming me and showing me a true experience in the corporal works of mercy.

I have been going into the San Saba Women’s Unit for some time now and each week I feel so blessed to be a part of A.C.T.S. Kolbe Ministries. These ladies in white are so hungry for the Word and want to learn how to turn their lives around with the help
of outside people who care about them. I pray that the Unit will continue to be blessed by the Holy Spirit, as we make our weekly visits. Please pray that we will find more priests who are willing to minister to these poor and lost souls.

I wanted to truly tell you again how thankful I am for being invited to participate in this ministry. I had no idea what I was in for, but knew that God wanted me to be present. I knew that Christ calls us to visit those in prison, but I didn’t have the
ability to comprehend how much this ministry brings healing and other spiritual gifts. This weekend has taught me how powerful God’s love is for us. That even among prison walls packed with spiritual warfare, GOD IS PRESENT and IS IN CONTROL. Although, these ladies were physically in a prison, I had forgotten that many place themselves in an emotionally and spiritually prison, just like the majority of us when struggling with faith. That even when they are free from the walls of the building, they are still locked among their self made prison. I, myself knows that a prison we place ourselves in can lead to a death sentence to our souls. This weekend allowed me to witness how this ministry gives these ladies the key (Christ) to unlock themselves from their self made prison, so that they can find peace, rest, healing, hope, freedom and so much more. They may still be in a physical prison, but God won today…His Love was passed out today and freed many of these ladies souls.I pray that this ministry continues to grow!!!

I just completed the Kolbe Ministry retreat at Plane State and I must say how awesome it was. I didn’t think that it could be any better than the Lockhart one but I felt that it did surpass it. God always makes things work out for His Glory. I also volunteer
at the Stiles Unit and have seen the improvement in the guys there and I have just recently become a CVCA at Stiles. I love working with the guys and thoroughly enjoy working with the women. All I can say is God is an awesome God.

The womens retreat at Carswell was my first prison retreat and it won’t be my last. I was so unsure the week before of why I was doing going on this retreat but by the time we actually got through the door all of that anxiety evaporated. I was amazed at
the women and where their faith was and the challenges they faced behind bars. To see attitudes and hearts change over those few days was truly God at work. Some people claim the retreats are emotionally manipulating because of a lack of sleep. Well, that
definitely was not the case in a prison retreat, it was all the Holy Spirit. I felt so honored to be able to love on them in the name of Christ. I look forward to going back in and letting God do it again!

Prison Ministry means more than we know to the men & women incarcerated. For me, Prison Ministry is bringing the love of Jesus to this group of often forgotten women, they are part of the Body of Christ and cannot be ignored. Yes, it is a sacrifice of
time & treasure, but seeing the smiles on their faces, the tears when they are touched by the message, & their joy of receiving the sacraments teaches us humility & obedience. Praying for all involved in prison ministry & for more of our brothers & sisters
to join us.

I just finished participating as a team member in the Kolbe Prison Ministries retreat for women at Plane State Jail. What an absolutely Holy Spirit filled experience. I am a Catechist at Larry Gist State Jail in Beaumont, but this is my 1st prison retreat.
There are no words to describe the experience. I have told others that I was hit by a “tsunami”, and can’t wait to participate again. My ACTS sisters were wonderful to work with, and we all felt humbled by the reception given to us by the retreatants. These
women are hungry for Jesus. We had many who expressed a desire to finish their sacraments or to explore coming into the Church. God is good, all the time. I am hooked.

“This is my hope for you, for I carry you all in my heart: whether I am in prison or defending and confirming the Gospel, you are with me and share the same grace.” Philippians 1:7
We are called each day to evangelism our faith as Catholics. Going into the prison to be a disciple of Jesus is the most rewarding experience ever.
These women in white are lost and think that nobody cares for them or loves them. What a better way to show our love for our Lord then by showing them with our love and Jesus’ love too. If you just want to know what it is like inside a prison, come and join
us, your heart will forever be changed.

My name is Malissa Ward and I was a prisoner at the San Saba unit retreat in March of 2014. What those women do for the inmates was the most amazing experience I have ever had in my life and I will never forget what they did for me. I am hoping to go nto
the Plane State unit with them in April as a volunteer so that I can give back to other inmates what was given to me. Ive never been shown more love from strangers in my life and still keep in touch with numerous of he members that I got very very close too!
I love you ladies and look forward to being with you on los of these retreats. Tell San Saba I said hello and all of you including them are in my prayers daily.

Serving on the Prison ACTS Retreats has been one of the most Humbling experiences I have ever had. It has been a great Blessing for my husband and myself.

I went on my first prison retreat at Mountain View in August. It was one of the most rewarding things I have done. The women in the prison were so graeteful and it was such an honor to listen to their stories. I know that they felt the Lord’s presence
during the retreat and want to learn more. They have hope and trust in the Lord and I hope we were able to bring some sunshine and hope to them. May God watch over them and bless them. I was blessed to be a part of the great team and having 2 Deacons on team
were a Blessing. Thank you all for this Ministry.
